Objectifs
Thyroid eye disease (TED) is a rare, autoimmune disease occurring in up to 40% Graves’ disease patients that affects orbital tissues and could lead to visual impairment. Despite the evolving therapeutic landscape, recent epidemiological data are scarce. This study aims to estimate the incidence and prevalence of TED patients treated in hospital settings, to characterize the patients’ profiles, and to describe treatment use in France.
Conclusion
This study provides the first nationwide estimates of TED epidemiology in France and a general overview of patients hospitalized for TED in France between 2019 and 2023.
